Project:
ibug 2026: flow/resistance – Krähenreit Entwürfe
Client:
adhocrates

A fictional lost and rediscovered protoyping/design office from the 40ies inside the Auto Union building in Chemnitz. Made from reclaimed material.

This has been on of our heaviest research projects yet, to have many of the backgorund infos right. We definitely wanted to base it on someone who was obviously bad to the bone, ideally a jewish woman working on rad stuff.

„Krähenreit Entwürfe“ is a design couple working on different products at that time, creating with a DIY mindset and passion for fun things. Developing creative work despite the time and situation … or because of it?

Inspired by a real couple and based on their story! Käthe and Günther Mickwausch were a jewish artist/designer couple, who shaped the era with their creations. They almost lost their lives in WWII due to their family tree, and their design studio Mickwausch Entwürfe was part of campaigning for reconstruction in Germany after the war. A sad and very inspiring story, our work is a homage to their legacy!
