„Helter Shelter“
A skateable installation at the Muskator-Werk, Riesa (ibug)
Situated on the banks of the Elbe River, „Helter Shelter“ transforms an industrial warehouse into a high-water refuge. The installation features two animal sculptures emerging from a painted „flood“ on the concrete floor.
More than just visual art, these sculptures are seamlessly integrated into the space as functional skate transitions, bumps, and ramps. Forget the „do not touch“ museum vibes. These sculptures are actual skate transitions and ramps. We took the messy history of the river flooding and flipped it into a fun, interactive DIY setup built purely for skating.
